ASHLEYSEARSPHOTOGRAPHY
Raised in the suburbs of Detroit Michigan, Ashley Sears has been involved in the Arts since a very young age. She first became enamoured with photography while standing in the dark room watching an image taken from a pin hole camera she made with a Folgers coffee can, magically appear before her. She was smitten.
She went on to study at the University of Montana, where she graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts, emphasis in Photography in May of 2008. Following graduation she had the pleasure of interning at the Missoula Independant, where her main focus was in lifestyle, arts and entertainment photography.
Sears has since been working freelance, and expanding her personal portfolio while travelling throughout the Great Northwest, Italy, England, and most recently New Zealand. Her passion lies in both documentary, as well as conceptual editorial, and portrait work. As an active participant in the photographic community, Sears contributes regularly to several online publications and has exhibited and sold her work both here and abroad.
In 2009 she started "Somewhere Out There...", a line of fine art greeting cards which are currently for sale in stores throughout Montana as well as directly online.
